We are proud to inform you that after a few days of intensive survey, the 'Momentum Scan' is the first CFL vessel which is OCIMF-OVID approved.
The OCIMF (Oil Companies International Marine Forum) is a voluntary association of oil companies with an interest in the shipment and terminalling of crude oil, oil products petrochemicals and gas. OCIMF's mission is to be the foremost authority on the safe and environmentally responsible operation of oil tankers, terminals and offshore support vessels, promoting continuous improvement in standards of design and operation. The OVID (Offshore Vessel Inspection Database) is performing the offshore vetting for the OCIMF members.
With OCIMF-OVID approval CFL shows the Oil and Gas industry that CFL vessels and their crews are highly suitable for shipment of their demanding cargoes. The Momentum Scan has already loaded her first cargo in Singapore and is currently on it's way to Ashburton/Australia and is transporting goods for a liquefied natural gas plant which will be build in Australia. (Wheatstone LNG) The Industrial Merchant and Industrial Maya are the next vessels that are scheduled to be vetted.
In the meantime the CFL Proud (Jumbo type) has also passed IMCA inspections, necessary for operating in the offshore industry. The vessel has loaded 5500 tons of break bulk cargo for a leading international oil and gas company and is currently on her way to Batumi in Georgia.
It is CFL's intention to have the entire CFL fleet listed in the OVID database by the end of this year.
