More than 2500 spectators, brilliant sunshine, a festive atmosphere, a beautiful ship and a successful launch: CFL and Peters Shipyards couldn’t ask for more.
Last Saturday, the Momentum Scan was launched at Peters Shipyards, an event that attracted enormous attention. Never before has Peters witnessed a launch on so massive a scale as this, for the new Sole 10,000 vessel type, the first of a series built for CFL. This particular ship was christened by no less than two special godmothers, Ina Dijkstra and Audrey Huyser, mother and cousin of Kees Koolhof, Director of CFL. After the launch, the Momentum Scan was towed to the fitting-out quay, where it will be fully fitted out over the next six weeks. One of the highlights will be the placement of the cranes, which will take place next Monday. The first trial voyage is scheduled for 22 October, then delivery will take place around 29 October 2010.
